MidiKeySwitcher - Free VST Plugin

MidiKeySwitcher is a VST plugin which defines simple 2-key switches to select
a Midi Channel and send Midi Messages to select Programs and Banks+SubBanks from
a Midi keyboard set to a fixed channel. Its ultimate purpose is to free the keyboard
player from the computer mouse to browse plugin presets (Programs and Banks) and be
able to change instruments (Midi Channel) by using key switches on the lower keys.

d-lusion Rubberduck Bass Synth - Free

With this bass synthesizer released for Windows 95 in 1996 (way before
Propellerheads Rebirth, was available), d-lusion pioneered the market of
realtime software synthesizers on standard processors. Roughly based on the
the well known TB-303, Rubberduck's synthesis model consists of an oscillator
wave with a resonant filter sweep applied to it combined with an efficient
hardware sequencer design which resolves in the typical twisted, screaming,
bubbling bass sound that is often used in Acid House, Goa Trance, or Techno
productions. Rubberduck featured realtime digital resonant dynamic filters,
frequency and volume envelope (DCA, DCF), 4 basic waveforms, dual oscillator
sound generation (starting with version 2.0), a 224 note sequencer, a drum
section where samples could be synchroneous played back, an effect unit
(delay/feedback/distortion) and was fully Windows 95 compatible. User feedback
was overwhelming, ranging from "the door-bending bass response makes rebirths 303
section sound like a touch tone device" to "fucking brilliant" and the most famous
quote which says it all: "it is like fucking a hot hollywood bitch for the price of
a corner crack slut". On the other side Rubberduck received impressive press couverage,
from "KEYS" to "Future Music".

d-lusion MJ Studio - Free

Started with the upcoming of MP3s in the year 1997, a software for
playing music on student parties was developed, called: MJ. A first
public release was available in the year 98. MJ had two decks where
you could play back mp3s, pitch, scratch and mix them with automatic
beat detection - a complete virtual dj solution, including a mixer
with 3-band equalizer with pre-hearing. Further it had a comfortable
playlist with ID3 support and an autoplay feature which could play back
your mp3s seamlessly.

Based on the concept of the legendary Roland drum synthesizers TR-909, TR-808
and TR-606 whose throbbing bassdrums and crashing hihats sent generations of
dance-music enthusiasts into extasy, Drumstation combines cool old drum machine
features with cutting-edge software synthesis technology. Drumstation is a drum
software synthesizer and features 8 channels of drums (either samples or synthesized
drum sounds), programmable via an easy-to-use step sequencer, effects (realtime reverb,
delay, flanger, filter, distortion) for each channel, loops could be sliced and stretched.
All this in the year 1998!

This free downloadable version also contains - beside the standalone software
synthesizer - a complete set of free drum samples and effects to get you started

Sound Borb - Audio Ambience Generating System - Free

Sound Borb is an audio ambience generating system. The generative nature of Sound Borb's audio engine means that once you hit play, the ambience you're listening to will never end. It will never go to the next track. It will never loop. If you want to listen to the ocean, you can listen to the ocean from now until your electricity goes out. Various ambiences are available for download on the download page, and you can also create your own and post them for download here, if you're so inclined.

Parameters are kept to a minimum, so as to make Sound Borb easy to use. Just load an ambience, and start listening. You can adjust the overall volume, the intensity (how much activity is occuring in the sound), and the happiness of the ambience. Or you can set the intensity and happiness parameters to auto, and sit back and listen.

Sound Borb is currently free to use non-commercially. Enjoy!

Atlantis - Free Synth

Atlantis is a unique synthesizer VSTi. It has nearly unlimited possibilities for creating new and exciting sounds! It is also a powerful effects module that can be used to process other audio.

3 true stereo morphing oscilators, with independant width, phase, spread, chorus, tuning, volume, envelope and panning feed into a pair of filters (with your standard algorithms and a lot of unique new favorites), a shaper (distortions and beyond), and a simple room modelling multitap filtered delay system with another pair of selectable filters. The routing of the filters and shaper can also be switched into a variety of configurations for further flexibility.

All the standard waveforms you would expect (sin, square, triangle, saw, noise)- and you can also import ANY waveform you like! Simply add a .wav file with the waveform you want to hear to the Data Folder (as specified in the Config Dialog) – stereo or mono, any samplerate or bitdepth you like, and Atlantis will let you use it for oscilators and LFOs. Samples are upsampled into very high resolution wavetables.

Every slider parameter can be controlled by ANY modulator. LFOs, Envelopes, MIDI Control Data, the current note, velocity, follower, or combinations of them can be used to modulate your sounds into expressive organic creations previously unheard by human ears.

MSynth - Free

MSynth is a virtual studio containing a sequencer and instruments like synthesizers and drumcomputers. Every note played by a instrument is triggered by the sequencer. All instruments' outputs are mixed together in the mixer. A effect rack can be routed over the mixer.
The mixer window and the effect rack can be opened from the view menu in the main window.
Every instrument has a channel in the arrange grid (row) and a mixer channel in the mixer window (column). The complete studio setting is saved as a song file (file suffix *.mxl). The song, all instruments structures, settings and sounds are saved in this file, the imported samples and samplebanks are saved in the same directory as the song.
